Our Classes

Early Childhood

CREATIVE MOVEMENT (2-3 YRS. OLD)

Creative Movement will stimulate the creativity of each child through dance. This class will pursue the exploration of rhythm concepts, body parts, sing-alongs, storytime, and more. The toddler will learn behavioral skilled used for classroom settings and continue learning social skills with other children.

TINY ACRO/HIP HOP (2-3 YRS. OLD)

This introductory class will explore the beginning stages of tumbling, such as rolls, pencil rolls, and building the strength necessary for cartwheels.  In hip hop they will learn to dance and find the beat to faster music.  

COMBO 1 (4 YRS. OLD)

This class is an introduction to ballet and tap. Sometimes there will be story or coloring time to enhance the learning or a step of a particular genre. Other fun dance cames will also be played. A ballet dance will be performed at recital.

COMBO 2 (5 YRS. OLD)

This class will focus on the development of Combo 1. The students will learn the basic technique of each genre and its terminology. Storytime, coloring, and dance games will help the exploration of their imaginations. A tap dance will be performed at recital.

COMBO 3 (6 YRS. OLD)

This class will continue to focus on ballet and introduce the basic technique in jazz. Students will further explore ballet positions and enhance their flexibility. A jazz dance will be performed at recital.

MINI HIP-HOP (4-6 YRS. OLD)

Hip-hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

MINI ACRO (4-6 YRS. OLD)

Our experienced acro instructor will guide students toward increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline, and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, backbends, walkovers, balance, and contortion tricks.

MINI MUSICAL THEATRE (4-6 YRS. OLD)

Musical theatre class will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with Broadway-style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.

MINI TAP  (6 YRS. OLD)

This is beginner tap class.Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

Ages 7 and Up

BALLET*

Students will learn classical ballet techniques and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. The ballet curriculum is based on a combination of the French, Vagonova, and Cecchetti methods.

JAZZ*

Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz, such as Broadway, street, and contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

TAP*

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

MODERN*

This class will include Modern Technique such as; suspension & release, fall & recovery, connection breath to movement, Horton technique etc. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work, & partnering.

CONTEMPORARY*

This class is designed for intermediate to advanced students with previous training in ballet and modern. Students will explore partnering and weight sharing exercises combined with basic techniques and skills from ballet, jazz, and modern. It emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics while telling a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract.

IMPROVISATION

This genre is defined as "spontaneous movement." It's not preconceived movement, but sudden motions that come out once a dancer starts to move. The class will teach the different techniques to improvisation that eventually lead to choreography. Students must take this class in conjunction with contemporary.

POINTE

Pointe class is designed for the advanced ballet dancer. All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class included barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. Students must take this class in conjunction with ballet.

*Multiple levels of this class are offered. As students progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
